Aaliyah earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Upon graduating she took a gap year and decided to continue her education at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia where she earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology.
Aaliyah is currently licensed to practice speech language pathology in North Carolina and provides services in the Charlotte/Huntersville area while completing her Clinical Fellowship year.
Aaliyah has a deep appreciation for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and language development, and is also passionate about helping individuals find their voice and improve their communication skills. Her dedication to empowering clients through personalized and evidence-based approaches reflects her commitment to the field and its missions. She has experience in pediatric evaluation and treatment in a variety of settings, including school systems and outpatient clinics.
Aaliyah, has an extensive music background, and attended Northwest School of the Arts from middle to high school where she was formally taught to play the piano. She enjoys playing the piano and is self taught in two other instruments: the guitar and ukulele. Her love for music drives her interest in incorporating music into therapy sessions, where she sees its potential to enrich the therapeutic process. Whether through rhythm, melody, or playing her favorite instruments, she hopes to use music as a tool to create meaningful and engaging therapy sessions that enhance emotional expression, communication, and overall well-being.
