Emily Foster

Occupational Therapist
Emily was born and raised in North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with minors in sociology and American Sign Language (ASL)/Deaf studies. She then earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Lenoir Rhyne University.
Emily has always been passionate about working with children. She has experience working in pediatrics with diagnoses such as Autism, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), feeding challenges, sensory processing disorder, and global developmental delay. Emily has a passion for learning more about genetic and pediatric developmental disorders to better aid in collaborative care for patients. Emily was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome hypermobile type (hEDS) as a teenager and wants to be a resource to those with similar diagnoses. Emily has a love for adaptive sports and has volunteered for several different events along the East Coast such as Life Rolls On adaptive surfing and Miracle League adaptive baseball for children.
When she isn’t working, Emily enjoys kayaking, biking, playing with her cats, and traveling to new places!
