Michaela Raach
OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Michaela was raised in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. She earned her Bachelor’s of Health and Human Performance and her Master’s of Occupational Therapy from West Virginia University.
After graduating from WVU, Michaela moved to Durham, North Carolina, and worked in a variety of settings including an outpatient clinic, school system, and in early intervention. She then relocated to Winchester, Virginia, where she gained further experience in outpatient pediatrics.
Michaela has experience working alongside speech-language pathologists and physical therapists to provide a collaborative approach to patient care. She has assisted with community events while in Virginia, including sensory friendly night at the local museum, and has provided therapy support through a summer camp for children with physical, sensory, social, emotional, and/or developmental difficulties.
Michaela is excited to return to the state of North Carolina to provide care to her community all while living closer to her family. Her experience of working with diverse pediatric populations, including children with diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, developmental delay, feeding difficulties, and sensory processing disorder, strengthens the occupational therapy services available in the Outer Banks, where she will further help Carolina Therapeutics fulfil its mission of bringing the very best in pediatric therapeutics to the area. Michaela is passionate about helping to provide strategies for her families to increase their child’s success at home and in the community!
When she’s not working, Michaela enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son, practicing yoga, traveling, and exploring new foods!
