Originally from a small town in the foothills of North Carolina, Sydney chose to travel two hours up the mountain to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Appalachian State University. After earning her Bachelor’s degree, Sydney attended East Carolina University to obtain her Masters in Communications Sciences and Disorders where she gained valuable clinical experience in a variety of settings and populations. Through those clinical experiences, Sydney found her passion for helping children.
Sydney is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina. Sydney’s background from her undergraduate, graduate, and professional career has given her considerable experience in evaluating and treating children with a wide range of communication impairments, including those with receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language, phonology, articulation, fluency challenges as well as those who utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Devices. Though Sydney enjoys working with all patients, she has a love for children in the areas of early intervention, language disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and those who utilize AAC devices. Utilizing a collaborative and friendly approach, Sydney is eager to form positive, meaningful relationships with both the children she works with and their families.
Sydney currently resides in Charlotte, NC where she enjoys long walks, trying different coffee shops, traveling, art, photography, watching tv shows, and enjoying movies.
